Oh baby! Would you look at all those bunching muscles. I can't stop ogling those sexy abs. Wha!
Oh hi Everyone! I've got Miss Maddie Taylor on my blog today with some seriously hot stuff from her new western Jackson's Justice. But before we get started let's all just take a moment to admire those bunching muscles one more time.
Melody, your hopeless.
You hush, Yellow or I won't let you ask Maddie your question.
Welcome Maddie, please have a seat. Would you like a lemon drop? Yellow made them in honor of your appearance today.
Maddie: Thanks, but I can't. Day job and all that.
Melody: Aw, okay. But they're really yummy! I had a little taste-test just before you got here.
Before we get into this scrumptious new western of yours, I wanna know how you do it? What were your goals last year concerning your writing and where do you see yourself going this year?
Maddie: My first book came out in March 2013. I cranked out 11 books in the 12 months thereafter. Yes, I was impressed with myself. This second year, sadly, it will be less, a measly eight (plus 2 boxed sets) unless I become possessed by a frenzied muse and get busy in the next two months. I’m not sure where I went astray, I’ll have to do some soul searching and get back on track.
Melody: Are you kidding me, that's freaking awesome. I really admire that you juggle a full time job and still have the energy to create the amazing characters we find in your books. Speaking of which, where do you come up with such hot names? Maybe part of it has to do with that hot pic up there, but Heath Jackson... to me, it just sounds so alpha male.
Maddie: Depends. If it’s a historical, I’ll usually research the top 100 names for that year. If the character is foreign I’ll research surnames. Often, I just pick a name that I like or that reads easily. I’ve read books where I had no idea how to pronounce the name, (Arregaithel comes to mind) it was distracting so I try to avoid those.
Melody: Arrega... what? Yup, that's a tongue twister alright. How about the title? How did you come up with Jackson's Justice?
Maddie: Marshal’s Law was suggested by a reader. Along those lines, Jackson’s Justice seemed to fit the ongoing theme. Titles are hard, don’t you think?
Melody: Oh, reader suggestions. Hang on, I have to make a note of that.
While Mel's off making notes I going to sneak in my question.
Mel has talked you into going clubbing with her. You’re at a really snazzy place and you're both dancing your heads off, laughing, joking and having a great time in your sexy yet conservative little black dresses. A sexy young hunk approaches the two of you and starts showing you his moves, flirting with both of you. The song ends and he asks if both of you will join him for a drink and then go back to his place for a little ménage fun. What do you say?
A. Sorry, we're both already taken.
B. Sit tight and see what Mel says first.
C. Who's supplying the prophylactics?
Maddie: I’m a big fat boring A. If you read my books you’ll see they are all about monogamy. Yep, that’s me, I’m a one man woman. I’m thinking of branching out, within limits for Club Decadence 5
Melody: Yellow! OMG! You did not just go there. My apologies Maddie. I swear I had no idea. Although, I'm not certain I could give the same answer. ~smirks~ Especially if the guy looks like Heath Jackson. Just sayin'. So let's move on before I start ogling that pic again. Have you ever not finished a book?
Maddie: I have several works in progress at any given time, but I haven’t ever not finished one. I have taken a step back and regrouped and deleted scenes, but so far they’ve all come to fruition. Those deleted scenes go into a file for future use ☺
Melody: Oh what a great idea. You could save them for a deleted scenes post for fans. I'll hold off on going to make a note of that. Yellow seems unusually frisky today for some reason. What would you say set's Jackson's Justice apart from other books you've written?
Maddie: It's LONG!!! At over 130,000 words, it is my longest to date. Phew! Priced the same as others at 40,000 words, readers will definitely get their money’s worth.
Melody: Your fans are going to love that! Myself included! I know how easy it is to get totally submersed in your stories. How about giving readers a taste? What did you bring us today?

Twenty-year-old Jenny Harper has been in love with Heath Jackson since the day she saw him leap from a galloping horse to save an old woman when she was eleven years old. Over the years, Jenny has watched the women swarm around Heath, but she has her heart set on him and she is not one to give up easily. One way or another, she will show Heath she is a grown woman, ready for a husband, not the child he remembers tagging along after his younger brother.
Unfortunately for Jenny, ever since he was left at the altar by a foolish girl who ran off to marry a wealthy old man, Heath Jackson has sworn off marriage, preferring instead the company of widows and saloon girls. And in any case, though he has secretly lusted after her for years, as far as Heath is concerned Jenny is too young, too much like family, and too eager to wed.
But when tragedy strikes, putting more on Jenny’s shoulders than she can bear, her only hope of saving her family home lies in marrying quickly. Can Heath sit back while other men vie for her affections? Can he bear to watch in silence as she chooses a weakling when she desperately needs a strong man like him, one who will keep her safe and give her the sound discipline she needs when her impulsive ways place her in danger? Or will he stand up and claim what should be his, even if it means risking his heart again?
Publisher’s Note: Jackson’s Justice is a largely stand-alone sequel to Marshal’s Law. It is a full-length erotic romance novel that contains sexual scenes and spankings, including domestic discipline in a historical setting. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book.
And now an excerpt I think everyone will enjoy.
“That does it. If you’re going to act like a child, I’ve a mind to treat you like one by dusting up your skirts and blistering your tail but good.”
Her mouth fell open with a huff of indignation before she redoubled her efforts. “You wouldn’t dare!”
The next moment, he proved that he would. With his boot wedged against a spoke of the wheel, his big hands toppled her over his raised thigh. Neither her feet nor her hands could reach the ground and she teetered, grasping wildly for purchase. She latched onto his leg, her fingernails digging into him to keep from falling.
When the first swat connected with her bottom, she squealed. The night seemed to come alive as she heard a door slam down the street and a dog began to bark nearby.
“I suggest you keep quiet, unless you want the neighbors to come investigate the commotion.” He said that calmly, as if it was an everyday occurrence for him to take a girl over his knee in the middle of the street. Unfazed, he methodically smacked her behind.
Jenny bit her tongue. He was right. The residents of Laramie were nothing if not curious, and they gossiped voraciously. Her reputation would be in shreds if someone saw them. Therefore, she submitted quietly with her bottom pointed skyward and her mind reeling in disbelief at the utter gall of this man. A dozen or more blows fell before he stopped. It hadn’t really hurt through the many layers of clothes. Thank goodness, he hadn’t ‘dusted’ them up as he’d threatened. This had been humiliating enough, but for him to see her underthings… Tears of embarrassment wet her eyes as he set her back on her feet.
“Now then…” His hand came up to grasp her chin and his eyes bore down on her, gleaming intensely in the moonlight. “Ordinarily, your bottom would be hot and stinging from my hand connecting directly with your bare skin. That’s how a true spanking is delivered. This was only a taste of what further reckless behavior will earn you. I’m hoping that you heed my warning from here on out and this won’t have to happen again in order for you to find out for certain.”

Melody: Yup, those three little words "You wouldn't dare," will do it every time when your dealing with hot hunk like Heath. I love the image you created of Jenny flailing about unable to find solid ground while over his knee. ~giggles~
So what's next, Miss Taylor? Where is that hot little imagination of your taking us from here?
Maddie: Oh my, so many books, so little time. Next up is Club Decadence Book 5, Sean and Mara’s story. Then there has been some rumors flying about for a Pleasure Bay sequel <hint hint> Sweet Surrender, my sequel to Sweet Salvation is on its way to my publisher. Club Decadence 6 and Decadence LA 2, 3, and who knows after that. I wish I could clone myself sometimes.
Melody: That's quite an impressive line up, Maddie. It's going to be a pleasure working with you again soon for a trip back to Pleasure Bay. ~grins~
One more question before you have to trot back off to that 'other job' of yours. What is the best day you've ever had while writing?
Maddie: I had a best weekend while writing Everything Christmas. I wrote almost the whole thing from Friday-Sunday. It's a novella, true, but that was awesome! It just kind of rolled off my fingers in a frenzied muse (as above). I wish there was a pill for that.
Melody: I remember that story ☺ I can't believe you wrote the whole thing in only a weekend. I'm SO jealous now. But in the best possible way of course. Where can readers find out more about you?
An author of erotic romance, Maddie is a lifelong reader who became a romance junkie as a teen with her first romance novel, The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen Woodiwiss. From then on, she was hooked, and gobbled up everything she could get her hands on, whether contemporary, historical, paranormal or sci-fi. If there was romance to be found between a strong alpha male, and a sassy, adventurous and oftimes defiant yet loving woman, Maddie was all over it. As an author, she stays true to those themes writing steamy erotic romance, with a side of kink, and adding elements of intrigue, danger and suspense to her plots.
Maddie started writing as a hobby. Her stories stayed private while she raised a family and worked full time as a registered nurse. It wasn't until 2012 that she decided to take the plunge and submit her first book for publication: Captain My Captain. She went on to publish eleven novels her first year.
She's still juggling writing with her day job. You'll find her working at her laptop into the wee hours of the morning, or scribbling plot ideas in the notebook she always keeps handy, and working out the details of a scene while floating around in her pool with a lemon drop in hand. Don't be surprised if you see her pulling over on the side of the road searching frantically for pen and paper in order to capture an idea for a scene that popped into her mind, because as Maddie says, her best ideas always come when her hands are full or if there isn't a pen in a five-mile radius.
